Genero pays creators using the payment service, Payoneer, where you can sign up for either a Bank Transfer account (receive payments directly into your bank account), or a prepaid Credit Card account. Read more here.
To sign up for Payoneer, follow these steps:
1. Head to your Payments Dashboard on Genero.
Click the 'Set up payment methods' button to continue, or if you have pending payments listed here, you'll be prompted by a 'Set Up' button next to the payment.
2. Add your first Payoneer currency account
You should sign up for the currency that the brief budget is in. More on that here. Scroll to find the relevant currency and then click 'Add'. You can always add more currencies later!
3. Choose your Payoneer payout method
You can choose to sign up with a Global Bank Transfer account (receive payments directly into your personal bank account) or a Prepaid Mastercard (Payoneer will send you a prepaid credit card and you can accept your payment as prepaid credit). Once you've made your selection, click 'Apply now' and you'll be redirected to the Payoneer website.
4. Complete the application process on Payoneer.
If you already have a Payoneer account, hit 'Click Here!' to log in and connect it to Genero.
If you're new to Payoneer, carefully follow all the steps to create your account. Much like setting up a bank account, you'll need to carefully provide the correct proof of ID and all other information to ensure your account is approved. This step is extremely important.
Payoneer applications are then reviewed within several business days, after which you will receive an e-mail confirmation with further details. Keep a close eye on your inbox (including spam and junk folders) as Payoneer may reach out to verify information before approval. If you need help during this time, please reach out to Payoneer Customer Support with as much information as possible.
5. Collecting payment.
Once Genero has received payment from the client, the Creator Payment (or progress payments) will become available on the platform for the client to release to the creator, either when the brief is completed or at agreed milestones throughout production.
When a Creator Payment is released via the platform, you'll be notified (via email and the brief) that your payment is ready to collect via your Payments Dashboard. If you can only see a 'Set Up' button rather than a 'Collect' button, it means you need to add an additional currency account.
