It is completely free to join Genero, access briefs, and submit your pitches. We charge a small creator platform fee for commissioned work which is 6.5% of the Creator Budget.
On each brief you will see the Creator Budget, which is the total budget available for the brief before the 6.5% Creator Fee has been deducted.
You will also clearly see the Creator Payment, which is the total payment amount that will be released to you. This amount should cover all costs associated with completing the job unless otherwise specified in the brief (eg. travel, accomodation, talent).
Using Payoneer
Genero pays creators using the payment service, Payoneer, where you can sign up for either a Bank Transfer account (receive payments directly into your bank account), or a prepaid Credit Card account.
To sign up for Payoneer, follow the prompts via your Payments Dashboard on Genero. You'll also be prompted to sign up for Payoneer when you submit a treatment or are commissioned. Much like setting up a bank account, you'll need to carefully provide the correct proof of ID and other information to ensure your account is approved.
Payoneer Fees
Payoneer charges fees for you to receive payments (usually no more than a few dollars) but these fees can vary depending on your location, the brief payment currency and other factors such as exchange rates, so please ensure you check the relevant fee details regularly with Payoneer.
To check fees, log in to your Payoneer account and access your fees information from this link.
Collecting Payments
Once Genero has received payment from the client, the Creator Payment (or progress payments) will become available on the platform for the client to release to the creator, either when the brief is completed or at agreed milestones throughout production.
When a Creator Payment is released via the platform, you'll be notified (via email and the brief) that your payment is ready to collect via your Payments Dashboard. To collect the Payment, you'll need to have an approved Payoneer account in the correct currency.
