It is completely free to join Genero, access briefs, and submit your pitches.
For some briefs, we charge a small creator platform fee for commissioned work which is 6.5% of the Creator Budget.
On each brief you will clearly see the Creator Payment amount, which is the total payment amount that will be released to you. This amount should cover all production costs associated with completing the project, unless otherwise specified in the brief (eg. travel, accommodation, talent). Transfer or foreign exchange fees may be applicable depending on how you choose to receive payments.
When are payments released?
Once Genero has received payment from the client, the Creator Payment will become available on the platform for the client to release to the creator - either in its entirety when the brief is completed, or progressively at agreed milestones throughout production.
When a Creator Payment is available to collect, you'll be notified (via email and the brief) that your payment is ready to collect via your Payments Dashboard.
Where possible, we include Payment Terms on briefs where clients might have fixed payment schedules, so you are aware of the timeframe prior to accepting the work.
Collecting payments
Creators can collect payments on Genero by setting up direct payments.
If you have an existing linked Payoneer account, you can also use Payoneer.
Direct payments
Genero offers direct payments via our partner Airwallex in most regions. To set up direct payments follow the prompts via the Payment methods page in Settings.
Once you have an approved direct payment account, you can add bank accounts and choose transfer methods to receive your payments. The payout process will clearly show any applicable transfer fees or foreign exchange rates before you confirm the payout.
Payoneer
Creator with existing linked Payoneer accounts can collect payments using Payoneer.
Note: To collect a payment, you must have an approved Payoneer account in the currency of the brief, regardless of your bank account currency.
Fees
Fees will be applicable depending on your selected transfer method, the currency of the payment, and the currency of your receiving bank account.
Genero pays Creators in the same currency of the commissioned brief; if you are receiving into a different native currency then currency exchange fees may be applicable.
Receiving payment in the same currency as the brief does not incur any foreign exchange fees, however a small handling fee normally applies.
