Once you’ve selected your creator, you’ll move through to your brief dashboard and into the pre-production phase. You can find your brief on your Genero home page, or in My Briefs.
If you haven’t already, kick things off and introduce yourself: Use the messaging tool to congratulate the creator on being commissioned, and organise a kick-off call, or in-person meeting, to put a face to a name.
Make sure you confirm important project details:
- Confirm details/deadlines with the creator, then add important milestones to your Timeline
- Discuss any immediate feedback to the treatment and agree on next steps.
- You should also use the initial meeting to agree on any progress payments. Once agreed, set up your payment structure and if required, release your first payment.
Continue to use the messaging chain to share project updates - and schedule in the official pre-production meeting (PPM). The PPM is a critical part of the production process, particularly for live action productions and should not be skipped. Your team, your creator and production team should be involved. It’s the final opportunity before the shoot to confirm all elements of the production. For details about what should be covered, check out our Guide to a Pre-production Meeting.
